Question
Hi.
Here's the question. I just do not understand how X can be a reminder when 2x is divided by 4 is 0. How can there be a reminder if the equation is 0?
I'd appreciate your opinion on this. Thanks.

Question:
X is an integer, and the reminder when 2X is divided by 4 is 0. What is the reminder when X is divided by 4?

Answer
Hi Koko,
Sorry about the delay.
I can't see the question saying that x is a remainder. It only asks for the remainder when X is divided by 4.
If 2X divided by 4 is 0, then it only means that 4 is a factor of 2X which means that 2 is a factor of X or simply that x is even.
Now when x is divided by 4, the remainder could either be 2 or 0 i.e when 4 is a factor of X as well.
I think that should be it.
Good luck.
Regards.
