Hi, my name is Ahalya and I am currently enrolled in the IB Diploma Program (12th Grade). As part of our curriculum requirements, we have to write an extended essay paper (a kind of mini-thesis) and I've chosen to do mine on Mathematics. But I don't know what topic to choose so could you please help me with that? Or at least give me a lead or something?

It is difficult for me to suggest a topic because I don't know how much mathematics you know. The best I can do is recommend this book ,"Great Feuds in Mathematics: Ten of the Liveliest Disputes Ever" by Hal Hellman
If you browse through the chapters, I believe you will find something that catches your interest. Then follow up with research on your own to develop your thesis.
