Question
Just one quick question. I'm having a hard time figuring out this question:

Explain why you can’t multiply both sides of the rational inequality 3x+5/x+2 less than or equal to 2 by x+2.

Thanks in advance!

Answer
(3x + 5)/(x + 2) <= 2

3x + 5 <= 2x + 4
x <= -1

since we know that you can't have a x = -2 value because that would make the problem undefined and any number less than x = -2 would make the left side larger than the right side

ANS : -2 < x <= -1

so i don't see what you can't multiply both sides by (x + 2)
