Question
Suppose y is inversely proportional to x. If y=6 when x=4, find the constant of proportionalityand write the formula for y as a function of use your formula to find x when y=8

Answer
y = k/x

6 = k/4
k = 24

8 = 24/x
x = 24/8
x = 3

"Constant of proportionality" is 24
f(x) = 24/x is your "y as a funtion"
x = 3 is the "use your formula to find x when y = 8"
