Question
Hi,
i was wondering if you could help me in the right direction with this question

x ^2.5  = 15121.07

How do i find x? i believe you can use Logarithms, however, this would leave you with Base X, therefore i am confused

Thanks!

Answer
x^(2.5) = 15121.07

log(x)15121.07 = 2.5

you can also write this as

(log(15121.07))/(log(x)) = 2.5

(log(15121.07))/2.5 = log(x)

log(x) = 1.671833

inverse log both sides

x = 46.97135

try it and you will see that it works.

Another way to do this

x^(2.5) = 15121.07
x^(5/2) = 15121.07
square both sides
x^5 = 228646757.9449
5thrt both sides on a calculator
x = 46.97135
