Question
Hello:

How would I determine the answer to the following?

4 chefs bake 8 pies in 6 hours.  I want to determine pies baked per hour per each chef and chefs per pie baked per hour.
How is this determined?

I thank you for you reply.

Answer
Hi Kenneth,

Okay, I don't think I've seen much of this type of problem before, but I'll give you my thoughts on it:

If 4 chefs bake 8 pies in 6 hrs, then

the 4 chefs bake 8/6 =4/3 pies in 1 hr.
So, each chef bakes 4/3 * 1/4 pie = 1/3 pie per hr.

And, then to get a pie, if each bakes 1/3 per hr, you need 3 chefs to bake 1 pie per hour.

This is my best shot here.
