Question
Hi, I need the next two stages in this number sequence but I can't figure it out!!!!
4,6,10,14,22,_,_

Thanks, Hannah

Answer
2(n + x) = q

2(1 + 1) = 2(2) = 4
2(2 + 1) = 2(3) = 6
2(3 + 2) = 2(5) = 10
2(4 + 3) = 2(7) = 14
2(5 + 6) = 2(11) = 22

2(6 + 7) = 2(13) = 26
2(7 + 10) = 2(17) = 34
2(8 + 11) = 2(19) = 38

The next 2 numbers are 26 and 34

It took me a while while using the above information, but here is what i can tell

2p = q

whereas

p = prime
q = quantity

also to let you know

2(n + x)

n = the nth term
and
x in this case would equal some number that would make n + x a prime value that is next in line of the pattern.

i prefer just using q = 2p or y = 2x, whereas x = the next prime number.

for a list of prime numbers go to www.math.utah.edu/~alfeld/math/p10000.html
