Question
is this right?
Let X = {2,4,6,...,20} and let A,B and C be subsets of X given by A = {2,4,14,18}, B = {4,8,12,14,20}, C = {4,6,14,16}. Find:
(AnB)UC
= {4,6,14,16}
(a intersection b) union C

Answer
Hi Scott,

Well, to put it briefly, Yes.

For intersection, you look to see what the sets have in common: A inter B = {4, 14}.  Then for union, you take all the elements which are contained in either of the two sets, so you have it right.
