Question
If the world population of 5.5 billion people were gathered together in one spot, how large an area would we cover?

Allow each person a 2 foot by 2 foot patch of ground, and give your answer in square miles.

How would you get this answer?

Answer
2 * 2 * 5.5 * 10^9 = 4 * 5.5 * 10^9 = 22 * 10^9 = 2.2 * 10^10 or 22 billion square feet or about 789.1 square miles.

if 2 by 2 is 4 square ft, and you have 5.5 billion 4 square feet, then you get 22 billion square feet.

i used convert-me.com to get 789.1
