Question
1. the ordered pair that each point represents;
2. the quadrant in which the ordered pair is plotted (placed);
3. the x= line and the y = line that help to form the ordered pair.
Your answers should look like this:
Point E
ordered pair (4, 2)
plotted in Quadrant I
formed by the line x = 4 and the line y = 2
Each problem will count for 3 points.
Here are the points for which the information above should be listed:
1. M
2. O
3. L
4. N
5. P
The graph that you will use is shown below.
As was shown in the Practice Walk, the image is a graph of the x-y coordinate plane. The x-y coordinate plane shows 5 points and the student is supposed to list the ordered pair, the quadrant in which the ordered pair is plotted/located and the x = lines and y = lines that help to form each of the ordered pairs.
AnswerThis is basically self-explainitory
Quadrant I (x,y)
Quadrant II (-x,y)
Quadrant III (-x,-y)
Quadrant IV (x,-y)
You notice how in "formed by the line x = 4 and the line y = 2", now look at "ordered pair (4, 2)" you notice how in (x,y), x = 4 and y = 2, this is basically where the vertical line meets with the horiztonal line.
For ex:
1.)
Point M
ordered pair (x,y), since i don't have a picture of where the points are i can't tell you what (x,y) is
plotted in Quadrant ---, using what i told you each Quadrant is made up of, you can feel in the blank.
formed by the line x = x1 and the line y = y2
For this one, i can't answer x1 and y2, since i don't have a picture of the graph.
But maybe with my explaination, you can do it on your on.
