Question
Hello, I am building a circle patio and need to determine how many 16" diameter circles will fit into a 10' diameter circle.  Your help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks, cj

Answer
Here is how you calculate the answer.

Area = Pi * ((d^2)/4)

(A1)/(A2)
A1 = Area of Larger Circle
A2 = Area of Smaller Circles

10' = 120"

A1 = Pi * (((120)^2)/4)
A1 = (14400/4)Pi
A1 = 3600Pi

A2 = Pi * (((16)^2)/4)
A2 = (256/4)Pi
A2 = 64Pi

So you (A1)/(A2) becomes

(3600Pi)/(64Pi)

56.25 Circles

so without having a fraction of a circle. the true answer is

ANS : 56 circles.

the is the answer i get.
