Question
find the derivative of y with respect to the given independent variable.

1) y=2^x
2) y=x^pi

Answer
on these, i will use y' = (b^x)(ln(b))

1.)
y = 2^x
y' = (2^x)(ln(2))

------------------------------------

2.)
y = x^(pi)
y = pi(x^(pi - 1))
y = (x^(pi - 1))pi

y' = (x^(pi - 1))pi

This problem maybe y' = (x^pi)ln(pi), but i will have to get back to you on this.

Just to be on the safe side, i will ask someone for help. So i may get back to you on this. Also the way i have showed you how to do it, may be different than how you are tought to show you, but you get the idea of how i got my answer.
