Question
the expansion of steel=C*L*(T2-T1)
where C=11.3*10^(6)/degreesC
L=37m, T1=37 DegC, T2= -4 DegC
not compleetley sure how to input ethis calculation

also
y=x e(rt) (esponent rt)
wherer% is the growth rate t=time under consideration
x=the value at time t
If a quantity grows at 15% per year. What will be the growth after 7 years if the initial amount is 216?
Thanks for the help

Answer
Let me get this straight

EOS = CL(T2 - T1)
C = 11.3 * 10^6°C
L = 37m
T1 = 37°C
T2 = -4°C

EOS = (11.3 * 10^6)(37)(-4 - 37)
EOS = (418.1 * 10^6)(-41)
EOS = -17142.1 * 10^6
EOS = -1.71421 * 10^10

Don't know what you mean by the / in C = 11.3 * 10^6/°C

If you would like to elaborate a little more, i could help.

-----------------------------------------------------------

y = xe^(rt)
y = 216e^(.15 * 7)
y = 216e^(1.05)
y = $648.12
