Question
rewrite each equation as a function of x.
-3x + 4y = 11

Answer
Hi Patty,

Okay, all you want to do when you see the phrase " as a function of x" is to solve for y:

      -3x + 4y = 11        add 3x to each side

      +3x        +3x

           4y = 3x + 11  now divide each side by 4

            y = 3/4 x + 11/4

y is now a function of x.

Hope this helps

Steve
