Question
How do you problems where they give you two examples of logs, such as log 16=a and log 81=b.  Then how can you find log 120 in terms of a and b ?

Answer
log(16) = a
log(81) = b

and there is no base, then

a = 1.20411998
b = 1.90848502

log(16) = log(4^2) = log(2 * 2 * 2 * 2)
log(81) = log(9^2) = log(3 * 3)

log(120) = log(2 * 2 * 2 * 3 * 5)

Thats about all i can get out of it. I work better with logs that have bases.
