Question
Below is the result of a statistical study on a small sample based on an hourly wage rate:

wage rate($)    Frequency
8up to 9         3
9up to 10        0
10up to 11        6
11up to 12       0
12up to 13        12
13up to 14       0
14up to 15       10
15up to 16       0
16up to 17       7
17up to 18       0
18up to 19       2

Total:  40

Questions:
1. Determine the mean of the hourly wage rates

I came up with 3.64 (can you tell me if this is correct?)

2.  What is the mode of the wage rate distribution?  I am lost on this one..

3.  Based on the class limits, what percentage of this sample makes at least $14.00 hourly wage?

I am coming up with zero would be up to the $14.00 an hour.. can you tell me if that is correct?

Thank You!!

Answer
1.)
Mean = 40/11 = 3.64
When rounded, that is what i got.

-----------------------------------------------------------

2.)
Mode = Most common value, which is 0, which would have to be that, because the others only appear once.

-----------------------------------------------------------

3.)
Not certain, but it may be including the numbers from 8 to 14, and if they are, i get 21/40 = 0.525 or 52.5%
Another reason why i think it is that, is because i don't think it is as easy as the value for 13up to 14 to be 0.
