Question
i have two questions
evaluate the folliwing for the piecewise function:
let f(x)=2x+1, if x<0 ; =x, if x>0

the second question is
evaluate G(x)=x squared + x
g(x+h)-g(x) divided by H

Answer
Hi james,
I'm sorry about the delay.
I'm afraid i don't get your first question, what does it ask?
For the second question,
g(x)= x^2 + x
g(x+h)= (x+h)^2 + (x+h)
     = x^2 + 2xh + h^2 + x + h
Therefore,
[g(x+h)-g(x)]/h = [(x^2 + 2xh + h^2 + x + h) - (x^2 + x)]/h
               = (2xh + h + h^2)/h
               = 2x + 1 + h
I hope you got it.
I'm always happy to help out.
Regards.
