Question
I keep getting to the end and then I know I can't take the log of a negative number. Where am I going wrong?
log(2x-1)=log(x+3)+log 4

Answer
Hi Heather,

Well, I am getting the same answer you are, but that doesn't mean you are wrong.  You should get x = -13/2, but it doesn't check, as you said, so to me that means there is no solution to the equation.

An equation with no solution is always a possibility.
