Question
I have a sequence or series to solve:
Term: 1st 2nd 3rd 4th
     16, 17, 20, 22
I have to find the next term (5th) and prove why this is the case. Please help!

Answer
the only pattern i can see is this

16, 17, 20, 22

20 - 16 = 4
22 - 17 = 5

so i believe your answer is found like this

20 + 6 = 26

so i believe the answer is 26

so some of the numbers are

16, 17, 20, 22, 26, 29, 34, etc...

so the 5h term i believe is 26.

sometimes you can't just go from left to right, sometimes you have to go one after the other.
