Question
is there a formula for the sine function and the consine function when dealing with graphing them.  For example, y=4cos02  period= 2pie/2
A=4    How do you graph this if there is no separate formula for sine and cosine?  (0=theda)

Answer
Hi Diana,
Really sorry for the delay, i am having my exams and doing a project study.
I'm not sure i fully get the question. But let me just give you the trick. The graph of cos x is the same as the graph of sin x shifted to the left pi/2 units. To draw the graph of y = Asin nx, the amplitude = A and the period is 2pi/n. The graph of Acos nx would be this graph shifted to the left pi/2n units.
For example, the graph of y = 2sin 3x has an amplitude of 2 and a period of 2pi/3. The graph of y = 2cos 3x would be this graph shifted pi/6 units to the left.
I hope i have helped.
Sorry for the delay and any mix up. You can always get back to me.
Regards.
