Question
Hello!

My name is Assaf and I have a question about conversion:

I have to convert inches into: Yards, feet and inches. For example:

134 inches = 3yards 2feet 2inches (this is the example the teacher gave us).

What is the formula in order to break down the number of inches into this value (in yards feet and inches).

Please I would really appreciate your help.

Thank you in advance,
Assaf Lasry!

Answer
134 inches

1 yard = 36 inches

134/36 = 3.7222222222222

1 yard = 3 feet

since we already found that we have 3 yards, we take the .72222222 and multiply it by 3, and you get

3 * .722222222 = 2.166666666 feet

1 ft = 12 inches

we already know we have 2 feet, so take .166666666 and multiply by 12

.1666666 * 12 = 1.9999992, which is close to 2 inches

so now we have 3 yds, 2ft, and 2in.
