Question
A friend and I were debating what the math term "cubed" means...I believe that three cubed (3x3x3)equals 27 and he believes 3 cubed (3x3x3x3)equals 108...Please inform my friend I am right!  Thanks!

Nancy

Answer
x^3 = x * x * x

now just insert a value for x.

here is what its called that

squared deals in length and width (2D)
cubed deals in length, width, and height (3D)

now think of it like this, a square which is equal on all sides, and squaring that gets you x^2

a cube has 3 sides all equal in length which gets you x^3
