Question
solve for 0 <= x <= 2pi. leave answers in terms of pi.

1) tan x= cot x (find all 4 solutions for the 4 quadrants)

Answer
tan(x) = cot(x)

tan(x) = 1/(tan(x))

(tan(x))^2 = 1

tan(x) = ±1

inverse tan both sides

in degrees x = 45°, 135°, 225°, and 315°
45° and 225° would equal 1
135° and 315° would equal -1

in terms of pi,

45° = (pi)/4)
135° = (3pi)/4
225° = (5pi)/4
315° = (7pi)/4
