Question
When using Cramer's Rule to solve the system of equations
containing 2x-y=1, -4x+3y=0 the numerator for the y variable
looks like what determinant?

Answer
2x - y = 1
-4x + 3y = 0

|2,-1|
|-4,3|

D = ad - bc
D = (2 * 3) - (-1 * -4)
D = 6 - 4
D = 2

x =
|1,-1|
|0,3|
------
2

x = (3 - 0)/2, = 3/2

y =
|2,1|
|-4,0|
-------
2

y = (0 + 4)/2 = 4/2 = 2

so

x = (3/2)
y = 2

The numerator of the y-variable looks like the Determinant of the problem.

Unless you mean that the numerator of the y-variable is the same as taking the coeffients of the y-variable and adding them together, -1 + 3 = 2

other than that, i think you can figure it out.
