Which value is the sum of the solutions to x^2-3x-18=0?
x^2 - 3x - 18 = 0
(x - 6)(x + 3) = 0
x = 6 or -3
if you are asking for the sum of the intercepts, then the answer is 3.
However if you would like to know how far apart the 2 intercepts are, then the answer is 9. It just depends on what you are asking for.
