Question
it is given that r and s are two vectors and
|r|=5units. find the value of |r+s | when s is perpendicular to (r+s ) and |s |=3units.

what is the question saying?
does that mean the the whole figure is a right-angled vector diagram?i took it as an right angled figure..than since r = 5, which is the hyp of the triangle.. and (r+s) is 3..which is one to the side..thn applying pythagoras theorem..u get 4..

Answer
Hi Hairani,
I'm sorry about the delay. We had a technical problem around here.
I'm happy to let you now that you're in fact right. The vector r happens to be the longest and according to your right approach, (r+s)should be 4 units in length.
Feel free to always approach me on anything.
Regards.
