Hi Jan,

I am playing the Collection of Kings Quest and have hit a problem in Chapter 5 of the Princess Bride (VII). Whenever I pick up the firecracker and put it in my inventory it explodes killing me. Is there a patch to fix this? I have down loaded several walkthro's and followed everything through in case I missed something to this point but it still happens.

Your help would be greatly appreciated

 It's been ages since I've played, but I believe you need to just keep restarting the firecracker sequence. Every time you die, it remembers how much you moved, so you'll be a little closer to the vault you're trying to reach when you start it the next time. It's a pain, but eventually you'll make it to where you're trying to go.
So pick up the firecracker, and as fast as you can head to the vault. When you die, resume and head for it again. Good luck, I know it's a pain!
