I just got the golden feather and crossed back over the broken bridge.... When I try to exit, I just run through the portal and into the wall behind it. Is there something I am missing or is something wrong with the game? The portal doesn't seem to be working....What did I do wrong?

  You didn't do anything wrong. This game requires a patch to complete that section. Go to Sierra.com   then click on Support (at the top of the page), Then Product Support. Find Kings Quest 8 in the pulll down window and click Go. It should then give you the patch to download and install. Good luck!
