I have been stuck here for a very long time. I screwed up the puzzle pretty much from the get go. Got the lava to drain, then went down the ladder and into the room. Now no matter how I try to turn the red knob on the pedestal, the only thing that happens is the gear over my head moves from one side to the other. Any suggestions on how to fix this and solve the puzzle? This is the last I have to do, I have finished the other 2 and am ready to move on, please HELP!!!

Okay, if you're where I think you are this should happen after you drain the lava. Go down the ladder and look through that little round window on the door.  All the lava is gone now, so open the door and enter that room.  Go up the ramp and you will see another similar wheel with a red knob below the fan.  Move the knob clockwise.  Move the knob through the center to the left.   Move the knob counter clockwise.   

Go forward and pull the fan switch.   Go back to turn the red knob clockwise again to lower the walkway.  Now you can see the fan moving.  Slide the red knob to the right, move the red knob counter clockwise and finally move the red knob back to the left.  Leave this room and go up the ladder to the top level.  Move this red knob counter clockwise.
