Question
QUESTION: Hi. I was wondering if you can tell me what the highest position is at an advertising agency? Thanks

ANSWER: It really depends on what you are asking for.

1./ A working position?

2./ An owner position?

3./ A board position?

For a working position I would imagine that President would be the highest position. But there are two areas and usually under a different title - Vice President Client Services or Vice President Creative Services.

2./ As an owner - you call the shots. You own it - you are the boss of a privately held company - or the majority stakeholder. Regardless you could be President or CEO.

3./ Chairman on the board may be the highest position here but has no management power - this would remain with the CEO or the President.

I trust that this will assist you but I believe that I might not have answered what you really want to know. Be a bit more specific and I will attempt to assist.

QUESTION: I guess the best way to put it is what is the highest creative position at an advertising agency?

Answer
There are two answers for this position and I'm sorry but it really depends on the structure (size) of the agency/business.

For a small agency I would say Creative Director for a large agency I would say Director of Creative Services (typically a VP and usually a Creative Director)

I trust that this will help.
