Question Hi. Can you tell me if art directors and creative directors at advertising agencies work with photographers? Also, do they sketch designs? Thanks
Answer Hi, Danielle
Art directors and creative directors often make their own selection on which photographer to use for their communication components. In some larger agencies, the role of selecting a photographer may go to the agency's production department.
But the folks in the creative department generally -- especially the creative director -- more commonly retain the right to choose the right vendor for the work.
As far as your "sketch" question, the answer is yes. They usually sketch their ideas in a simple, rough format before moving on to the computer.
