Question
QUESTION: I read about jobs where people get paid to advertise for companies. What exactly would that be called? and how do you get paid by mile, rate, or etc.

ANSWER: Todd,

I really need more information. What are you offering? What is the service? Where are you located? What is the population? Is this a type of transit media program? Something you wear? Something on a van, trailer, car or bike?

Give me something to work with please. In short, media programs that are transit based usually follow a GRP (Gross Rating Points) scale. What percent of the overall population are expected to see the message based on frequency of exposure. The fees for this are calculated on how much of this audience will see the message. This is referred to as the number of impressions you can achieve using this media.

Thanks for your question,

Pete

QUESTION: The trucks with signs that advertise using magnetic signs. They usually display the company, phone numbers, and location. I was just wondering what to look for in the phone book for an advertising job like that. i looked under signs and advertising and I couldn't see anything that related to this job.

Answer
I am sorry, I do not know of any such business, not would I know where you would find a listing for something like this. I have no idea what size truck you are referring to. We have run campaigns on the sides of transport trailers which are not magnetic. We know of a company in New York that have media specific vans with a support at the back in lieu of a box and they afix vinyl digital graphics down to pickup trucks who advertise their business on the sides of their truck. Other than those, I am at a loss. Maybe it is region specific? I can't imagine getting anyone to alocate much of a budget for this service, but then again there is a bikini bottom advertising company in Rio de Janeiro that reportedly does good business.

I know that this is not the answer you were hoping for. Best of luck.

Pete
