There is no end of possibilities in advertising. account management, media planning and buying, market research, graphic design, ad creation, television, online media, web development, buzz marketing, video, photography, illustration, copywriting and the list goes on and on.

So too is the list of subjects that you can take to apply to this career. Photography, art sociology, psychology, history/culture, accounting, English, a 2nd language and more.

Humanity studies all apply to advertising.

But don't so quick to select Advertising. There are so many other areas that knit well with advertising and vice versa. If you have a strong art background and visual creative is your path consider graphic design - the world is your oyster.

If you prefer business - go towards a degree in business management and marketing.

And if it is human interaction that you desire - one on one, leadership, presentations, selling - look to account management.

I can be VERY rewarding, but it is also VERY competitive.

I believe that I have covered the different roles.

Thanks for your question
