Hi. I am wondering what does a job as a graphic designer entail?
Is it considered working in advertising?

A graphic designer designs brochures, ads, logos, corporate identity packages, magazines, newsletters, signs etc. Advertising agencies have art directors and graphic designers.

They take the type and put it in a layout on the page. It is a very creative process to make words standout or be eye catching. In designing a corporate identity package the graphic designer captures the essence of  a company with a logo and incorporates that into letterhead, business cards etc.
