Advertising/Is advertising art?

Question
hi there, i know i'm not really asking a question to do with advertising in terms of business (however, would love to get into this field, if you could give me some info on that as well), and that this may not be a question that falls under your expertise, but i just want to get your personal views about if advertising is art.

I'm doing a project on this, and would be grateful if you would let me include some of your views in my debate.

Any information is greatly appreciated, and thank you for taking time in reading this.

One of the most powerful concepts in advertising, and life in general, is the idea of "and." (as opposed to "or")

Here's what I mean: your question is, "is advertising art?"...with the implied question, "is advertising art OR something else?" My answer to you is Advertising is art AND other things, too.

Advertising - all facets of it - require a healthy left and right brain. The analytical side must work to analyze the message and strategy behind the message. The creative side must assemble fresh presentations to "break through" the clutter. Advertising is art...and a whole lot more.

I hope that helps with your debate.
