Question
About to semi retire and move to our home in Sun City Center Florida. Have been doing voice work for 30 years as spokesmen for clients. Did national ad for rent a wreck for two years. Local accounts, furniture ads for ad works in Harrisburg Pa for past ten years. How do I break in to Tampa and Florida markets ? Sent an inquiry to one agency on the internet and no response. Who do you ask for at agency or is it the production houses that hire talent ?

Could send you mp3 of  furniture ad I did recently for Old Brick in Albany. For your opinion if there is anything there.

We have a CD and flyer to send out but not sure all to go about all of this ? I say my name in the ads and they seem to be very effective for the client but need to get more exposure. How about agents? How does that work, and are there any in Florida ? Thanks, John R

Answer
John --first I have been on vacation therefore the delay in my response to you. At our agency one of the creative directors hires talent for all production. You may want to direct your information to the creative director. I would also research production houses in the area you are moving to and send them information. If you need leads contact the local chapter of PRSA, Ad Club, IABC or other communications professional organizations.

It may take a little time but I would think you will be able to build a nice business! Good luck! AA
