Question
I have a serious issue and a serious question.  I am a web designer, programmer, coder, hosting, and promotion.  I have a project here outside my current field but it's very hard, i have to sell 10,000 of
www.frankilove.com the item here for mothers day
I am marketing on .
www.myspace.com/frankilove
I am adding friends and so far got one sale out of 10,000.  I get a 2k bonus for selling 2000 she is paying me like 425 either way but the 2000 would keep me going until I am done studying php sql, for my programming career.  Do you have any idea on how I can accomplish this goal, and ifyou can help me I will give you some out of the 2000 just for giving me advice that lead to my success, this has to be done before mother's day any advice would be appreciated.

Answer
Well, if you want my advice (and I guess you do), I would say you need to aim higher than 10,000. If your goal is 2,000 out of 10,000, you're looking at a 20% response rate. Typical direct-response rates are 1-3%. So you might want to think bigger. Then, see where the chips fall.

But more importantly, you might want to tie the music sales into something bigger than Franki, her music and a generic "I love mom" sentiment. It's nice. But not breakthrough stuff.

You might want to consider a tie-in with the Breast Cancer foundation, in which your real goal becomes something emotionally powerful, like protecting a million mom's lives before Mother's Day. The song can become the theme-song of the effort - and sales of the song will benefit breast cancer research. "This Mother's Day, a song you help sing may one day save her life."

Best of luck with your efforts. And may all of our moms live to hear the songs of their children for years to come.
