Aerobics/jumping or running on the spot

Question
Kim
Is this effective way to get a fat burning workout?
Its too cold to and snowy to run outside and I cant afford a gym membership or a treadmill.
I have tried skipping rope but its to hard and my apartment is too small.
Not really into watching a aerobics tape.
What I could do is jump/run on the spot while watching football TV.
Thanks.

Answer
Hi Barry-
Running and jumping in place is a great way to burn some calories.  It definitely beats sitting down and watching TV, so keep doing it.  If you have some stairs, use them too.  While you are running and jumping in place, you could make it more challenging by using ankle weights or holding dumbbells in your hands.  If you don't have dumbbells at home, then use water bottles or canned food.

I hope this helps, thanks for the question.
