Aerobics - fat burn

Expert: Brandon Briggs, MS - 11/6/2009

Question
hi
what if a person has a good BMI but has a high percentage of body fat how to burn off the fat without loosing too much weight and what type of exercises they should follow and what should the diet be like?

Answer
Nimanthy,

I would question if your BMI is in range what is your body fat %? To lose fat and maintain similar weight you should include both cardio and strength training. I am unable to recommend a diet since that is a little outside my scope of practice. As far as exercise and strength training. I would do 3-4 days of cardio and 3 days of strength that incorporates your total body. High reps medium to low weight. 3-4 sets or each exercise with about a total of 300 reps a day should be ok.

Hope this is helpful.

Brandon
