Question
Hi Ken
I wanted to ask you about lower back exercises. My lower back is feeling very stiff, aching & I was wondering what could I do to losen it up? During the day when I'm out and about its fine. It's when I am sitting or in bed is when I feel it most.

Thank you for your time
Julie-ann

Answer
Hi,
Without knowing a lot more about you, it's not possible to give you specific suggestions. If you feel better when you're up and active, you should stay active as much as possible.  I don't know what is causing your back to feel stiff.  Without knowing the reason, its not possible to recommend a treatment.  To "loosen it up", you could take a hot shower or bath. Or you can try regularly stretching and strengthening if you're not doing that already.

Consider seeing a physical therapist or other qualified professional to diagnose the problem and give you suggestions on what to do.  It's worth it if you're serious about improving your condition.

Hope this helps.
