by reading ur profile i thought u might know a little about shin splints. i was wondering why im getting them now when i never did before, and how do u get rid of them? i have good running shoes and i dont jog for long distances.but i do enjoy getting outside and getting my exersize and lately i cant, its to painful. if u could help i would b really greatful.

Answer
Hi Katie,
Shin splints usually occur from running on hard surfaces for an extended period of time-over several months.
To relieve the pain-ice your lower legs after jogging.
Sometimes using an ace bandage on your legs will help to alleviate swelling.
Thank you, Bonnie
