Aerobics/Toning p :D

Question
Hi Kim,

I noticed in your details that you deal with toning up, which is what I need to ask about! :D

First, let me say that I am in extremely good shape.  I'm still in those teenage years, so I am really trying to start concentrating on being my best and eating well.

The problem, however, is my leg muscles.  I have been actively involved in sports since 4- gymnastics, soccer, swimming, basketball, etc.  Currently, I participate in karate (nine years and counting!) and fastpitch softball.  Because I have done these sports so vigorously, I have built tons of muscle, especially in my legs.  But, because I am shorter, this muscle has no where to go but to kind of bulk up.  Because of this, my inner/upper thigh area needs some toning- they aren't as hard as my other muscles when not in use.

So, do you have any tips for toning them up?  I'll take any advice, from exercises to certain foods to avoid, etc.  Thank you for your time! :D

Answer
Hi Francesca-
I'm glad to hear that you are staying active, keep up the good work.  As for the inner thigh area, do you have access to a gym?  Most gyms have machines that will tone the inner/outer thigh areas but if not, you can do some things at home.  If you have a ball, you can lie on your back with the ball between your thighs and squeeze it, or lie on your side and lift the bottom leg up and down (no ball needed).  Plie squats are also good inner thigh toners.  They also sell an inner thigh toning apparatus in some places, it is basically a device that you put between your thighs and squeeze.  Consistency is key so make sure you do it at least a couple times a week.

I hope this helps, thanks for the question!
