Question
hi i am nitin from india. i am 5 feet 11 inches tall . my weight is 211 pounds.my waist size is 39 inches . now i want to reduce my waist to 32 inches.  right now these days i am doing cardio of billy blankes for 30 minutes 6 times in a week . should i have to use weight training and situps and crunches or regular my current programme .do situps and cruches help me to reduce waist size or it will make big  muscles from my fat ?

Answer
Hi Nitin,

Glad that you're exercising.  Sit-ups and crunches will help strengthen your abdominal muscles.  They will not help reduce your waist size.  They won't build big abdominal muscles either because the abdominals don't grow big like a biceps or quadriceps muscles would increase in size. Keep doing cardio training and watch your diet and you will eventually lose inches and excess fat. Do crunches and other strength exercises because they help to burn off excess fat as well and they are important so you can safely keep doing cardio exercises.

Hope this helps.
