Question
Hello!

I have an interest in getting in shape for the summer, but I have no idea as to which classes I should take since there are so many different fitness classes nowadays. I don't know the differences between each class. If you can help list a few general classes (Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, etc.), and what each class offers (like what the goal of is for each class), that would help me figure out which is the right class for me.

Thank you so much!

~Kina

Answer
Glad you're motivated to exercise.  Yoga is composed of various positions/poses for stretching and strengthening the body.  It is not usually performed to music, though background music may be used.  Pilates is a series of muscle conditioning exercises commonly geared for strengthening the core.  It may or may not be performed to music.  Zumba is performed to Latin music and is an aerobic training workout using Latin dance moves and styles.

Hope this helps!
