Question
Hi Kim,

I'm 80 want to build muscle in my neck, near the shoulder area. What is the best way for me to do this? Please keep in mind, I had a hip replacement one year ago.

Thanks!
Karen

Answer
Hi Karen, in order to build these upper back and neck muscles, there are many exercises you can do including shoulder shrugs (just hold the weights by your side and shrug your shoulders), reverse flies (hard to explain but you can reference it online at http://exercise.about.com/b/2004/11/15/exercise-of-the-week-reverse-fly.htm) or rows (http://www.myfit.ca/exercisedatabase/viewanexercise.asp?exercise=One+Arm+Row&tab...).  Shoulder presses will help build shoulder muscles.  Start with lighter weights and build up from there.

I hope that helps, thanks for the question.
