Aerobics/Cardio vs weights?

Question
Hey Bonnie,
I just got a body analysis done and it basically said that i have to lose about 48 pounds of fat and gain 24 pounds of muscle mass to reach my optimum body weight. Now i know that gaining muscle and losing fat at the same time is  tough so i want to lose the fat first. My dilemma is whether cardio on its own would be sufficient to lose the fat or do i need to give equal importance to weight training as well? And if i have to do weights how many days should be dedicated to cardio and weights or should i do both in the same day?
Waiting For your reply :)

Answer
Hi Arjun,
Thank you for your question.
If you do just cardio to lose the fat-then your muscles will look flabby and untoned.
If I were you-I would devote 3 days per week to cardio and 3 days per week to weight training.
You can do different cardio machines on different days-I recommend 45-60 minutes of interval training.
On your weight training days-I recommend doing a full body workout-upper body-lower body and abs.
Thank you,
Good Luck,
Bonnie
