Aerobics/Walking - running how many steps a day

Question
Hi i am trying to figure out how many steps i take a day, i bought a pedometer and it measures strides - my stride is 2.5 feet long approximate.  Two questions, my pedometer reads about 7,000 after i have done about a 4 mile run so that means i have done 7,000 steps (they call it a stride) or is it 7,000 times 2.5?  if the answer is the former at 7,000, how many "strides" should i be doing daily?  Thanks much!

Answer
Stride and step are the same thing.  7,000 means 7,000 steps or 7,000 strides.  The word "stride" is sometimes used in place of "step".  (Stride doesn't mean just the distance the distance between steps). In this case, don't be confused between the two words!
Hope this helps.
