Aerobics/Difference between jogging & walking on incline.

If I jog 6 miles in 56 minutes my heart rate is 72-85 beats per minute during exercise and the aerobic points are 30.7. If I walk 4.3 miles on a 10% incline in 56 minutes my heart rate during exercise is 118-135 beats per minute and the aerobic points are 19.9. If my heart rate is significantly higher during walking, why do I earn less aerobic points than when jogging?

Hi Glenn,
I am really not that familiar with aerobic points but from what I've read it appears to be a formula to best guess your aerobic output and probably doesn't calculate your heart rate.  Is this a machine giving you the points or an online calculator?  Also how are you measuring your heart rate.  72-85 bpms seems pretty low for exercising so you should consider increasing your speed.  To get an idea of where your heart rate should be you can go to this website:
Whether you are trying to lose weight or build endurance I would focus more on your target heart rate than aerobic points.  Good luck!
