Question
I just began taking aerobic classes at a local gym.  In case you need them my stats are as follows: I am 34, 5'0" and 111 lbs.  I am interested in putting together my own aerobic workout to oldies style music.  A visiting instructor taught one on two occasions and I was hooked - The music got me motivated. Even though I worked my tail off I was sad to have the hour end.  She does not teach at the gym any longer so the class is non-existant.  I really miss this type of aerobics.  I am interested in creating one myself and do not know where to start.  I don't know where to get the music or any steps.  Can you help or point me in the right direction?

Thank you.

Answer
Hi Cheryl.
Here are a few of the sites many fitness entities I know regularly order from.

http://www.powermusic.com/
http://www.workoutmusicvideo.com/aerobics.html
http://www.musicflex.com/

You can also call local radio stations and ask for names of a DJs who sells "mixed" tapes of the particular genre that you like (ie. "oldies").  There are people out there who can put together a nice tape of songs that you like.  Just expect to pay around $20-$40 a tape/CD (depending on the quality and song selection).  Tell them you want a continuous mix.  If you purchase from a DJ, be sure that you are using mixed tapes for personal use only, due to copyright laws.

Hope this helps you a little.  Take care and keep up your fitness routines!!!

Sincerely,
Daphne
