Question
Good afternoon, I was curious what types of things My Fiance and I can do besides cutting out our favorite types of food healthy or not so healthy, and still be able to lose about 20 pounds in 6 months?  We would like to look healthy and fit for our wedding.  We are both healthy 29 year olds and she weighs about 122 and I weigh about 170.  Thank you so much for your time.

Answer
Good question.  It is hard if not impossible to successfully cut out any food in the beginning.  Instead, you should focus on cutting back slowly and use substitutions for the foods that you like that are not so good for you.  For example, if you like to drink one soda a day, drink only half and force yourself to drink a full glass of water right after.

Neither one of you sound overweight, but I don't know how tall you are.  To lose 20 lbs in 6 months is completely realistic and doable.  Keep cutting back slowly on the bad stuff and keep adding the good stuff.  Also don't forget to exercise at least 5 days/week.

Check out my website for my new e-book "Get Motivated! 10 Strategies to Stop Procrastinating and Become Your Healthiest Today" at www.milehighfitness.com.  It would be an excellent resource for you and your wife with tips and strategies on how to lose the weight and keep it off.

Hope this helps.
